    Dr. Denise Parker

Dr. Denise Parker is a graduate of Parker University holding degrees in anatomy, wellness and chiropractic, as well as having had a license in massage therapy. She is an integrative wholistic-minded chiropractor who has had specialized training in a technique that incorporates principles of psychology, acupuncture, homeopathy, nutrition and is structured in a way that works well with the other techniques she uses. It is the foundation of her practice and it provides an understanding of what your body may need first. She has also received training in nervous system rehabilitation using light therapy, stress reflex resolution and doula childbirth assistance. As Dr. Parker directs her efforts toward the function of you, the individual, her passion for discovering hidden health conditions has led her to focus her practice not only on the physical aspects of wellness but also in helping each connect with the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of their health as well.

In Dr. Parker’s world every day is an opportunity to partner with patients to discover their options outside the mainstream, to regain their authority over their health and to offer hope where hope is lost. This allows her to assist where gaps exist in care and provide empowerment to the individual.

Dr. Parker is a native Texan, living in the Houston area before moving to Dallas to complete her education in chiropractic. She married her best friend and high school sweetheart in 1997. Together they have two daughters, and a new son inlaw. Dr. Parker serves her local community, regularly giving back through fundraising and community service work.

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 5:10-11 NIV

Can you tell me about your treatment philosophy?

Bottom line, the body has the ability to heal. But, in all of us from time to time interference keeps that from happening. What are those interferences?

Thoughts, Traumas and Toxins… or our belief systems/limiting belief about our healing, physical traumas which have yet to complete their rehabilitation and finally our chemical soup of toxins and necessary nutrients that are out of balance. When these interferences are present they are seen as symptoms. These symptoms aren’t something to quiet or eliminate but rather to use as a guide for resolution. Dr. Parker uses your symptoms as a guide to the roots of your health concerns.

MIND – Our thoughts cause us to feel something. That in turn creates a chemical recipe to signal our action. If these thoughts create a reactive feeling, the alarm response is turned on and Fight/Flight is engaged. This chemistry in the short term is a necessary coping mechanism to keep us alive. In the long term, it causes our body to breakdown and function inappropriately.

CHEMISTRY – What we take into our body is what is used for the building blocks of repair and healing. It’s said, “Garbage in, Garbage out.” What you consume for fuel is as important as what type of fuel you might use in your car.

STRUCTURE – What you do with your physical structure is what determines your strength, agility and ability to continue to move, “movement is life.” Exercise, injury, sitting or starting something new all play a role in how your body responds to this movement.

RELATIONSHIP – Finally, if you were injured, how that injury happened can be as much a physical issue as a mental one. For instance, if you were hit by someone in your car, and you sustained a physical trauma you also likely sustained an emotional one as well. The person that hit you invaded or breeched your personal space. That is a boundary. This connection to other areas of your life where your boundaries have been violated can interfere with your healing process if not resolved.
